Grammy-nominated songwriter and recording artist, Alvin Garrett has unveiled the premiere of his sultry new music video, “Roll Slide Roll.

Shot in Atlanta, and directed by RoyalEyez and Alvin Garrett, this feel-good visual takes you on a smooth, grown-and-sexy ride like a vintage Cadillac.

Alvin sets the mood by romancing his lady love in an actual vintage Cadillac with his silky-smooth vocals before transitioning to an after-hours lounge with a classic intimate house-party vibe.

This upbeat video highlights the song’s synchronized line-dance, which the song has become synonymously known for; it also demonstrates how two lovers can Roll Slide Roll no matter where they may be.

The vibrant visuals help bring this celebratory stepper’s groove to life, illustrating the cohesiveness of love, connection, and community, giving both men and women the permission to let go, choose joy, and roll with the moment.

The catchy line-dance-ready track blends Alvin’s smooth, melodic vocals heavily rooted in his Tuscaloosa, Alabama upbringing—creating a mesmerizing fusion of R&B and Southern blues.

Written by Alvin Garrett and produced by Gearld Langford, “Roll Slide Roll” hit #24 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay Chart and has been heating up airwaves and dancefloors with its catchy hook and inspiring lyrics. The newly released video takes the song even higher, amplifying the visual into a fully immersive, feel-good musical experience.

Recognizing music’s power to unite, “Roll Slide Roll” is quickly becoming recognized as the next feel-good anthem that naturally pulls generations together, serving as the perfect soundtrack for the start of the new year.

The song lays out the blueprint for a lasting relationship and celebrates resilience through life’s challenges, and the joy of being in sync with your partner,” states Alvin Garrett. “The lyrics tell a story—’I love it when you step right’ isn’t just a lyric for the dance; I’m celebrating mutual love, respect, and support.

Roll Slide Roll” is featured as the second lead single from Alvin’s Garrett’s highly anticipated new album, “Talk To Her Like This,” which is slated to release on Friday, March 6th.

The eclectic album will serve as Alvin’s artistic love letter to women, centered on honoring their value while reminding men, and the world, how powerful love, appreciation, and emotional expression can be when it’s poured into music.

He’s leaning into a purposeful R&B sound that embodies what the genre has always done best–celebrate love and connection. This classic feel-good R&B album will be an artistic display of bridging the gap between lovers, all while advocating the need for men to express themselves with confidence, compassion, and authenticity.

I remember when R&B albums purposely set the mood for love and intimacy,” says Alvin. “I believe that we still need that kind of music, so that’s what I’m giving you with this project.

Known for creating timeless music driven by purpose centered on love, unity, and inspiration, Alvin first made his mark behind the scenes as a songwriter, penning hits for celebrated artists including Joe, Kelly Rowland, Fantasia, Johnny Gill, Ruben Studdard and more. In gospel music, the accomplished songwriter has penned songs for the likes of Deitrick Haddon, Trin-I-Tee 5:7, Alexis Spight, Lowell Pye, Darwin Hobbs, and Micah Lee’s breakout single, “Clap My Way,” which was nominated for the 2025 Stellar Gospel Music Awards (Song of the year).
